Andrea Brooks Africa Mission
ABOUT THE ANDREA BROOKS AFRICA MISSION
What started as the Africa Mission by the founder and leader of the Last Days Pentecostal Ministries (LDPM), Pastor Joseph Prempeh, formed part of the Bible-believing principles that he and the church are committed.
That belief is anchored on when Jesus Christ urged his apostles and indeed, the rest of Christendom to take care of the poor, weak and vulnerable among the people. The Lord Jesus Christ, in saying so, declared that "whatsoever you do to the least of these (the poor and vulnerable), that you do unto me."
As part of giving practical meaning to what Jesus Christ commanded, every year, Pastor Prempeh travels to Ghana from where he hails, and with support from church members and other charitable organizations, he is supplied with food items, clothing, as well as financial and educational support for the poor in Ghana with plans to extend it to other countries and regions.
Over the years, many thousands of Ghanaian parents and children have benefited from the benevolence of the Africa Mission.
It is, however, worthy of mention that one person who was pivotal in the yearly success of that philanthropic pilgrimage to Ghana was Ms. Andrea Brooks, a stalwart of the church and mother to the basketball legend, Tristan Thompson, and his siblings.
Year after year, she spearheaded the initial raising of funds mostly from her own resources and encouraging others to do the same.
At a point in time, her name became synonymous with the provision of philanthropic support for the people and children of Ghana.
Then in January 2023, Ms. Brooks was called by her maker to eternal rest. Painful as her departure was, it did not discount the fact that she had been a true torchbearer in the extension of God's goodness and love to the children of Ghana.
The leadership of the church, following her death, decided to re-christen the Africa Mission after her and therefore the name became the "ANDREA BROOKS AFRICA MISSION".
The first of the Andrea Brooks Africa Mission was done in May 2023 where more than 2000 Ghanaian households happily and thankfully benefited from the proceeds of people's generosity in fulfilment of the directive of Jesus Christ.
It is our prayer that as you read this, God will touch your heart the way she did Andrea's to support this worthy cause in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
